Suzuka 8hours Adventure - Part 1 (The Preparation)

SPECIAL Suzuka 8hours The Preparation (part1)

Suzuka 8hours is one of the world’s renowned race and beginning 2017, Suzuka 8hours will be the final race of four rounds of the FIM Endurance World Championship. It is definitely full of excitement and I am flying there to watch the race live and this will add another chapter of my motorbike related adventure into my diary.

THE BASIC INFO

It is very easy and convenient to obtain information about the race. The Japanese has been famous for their efficient and effective nature. True enough, there is wholesome of information at Suzuka 8hours official site (http://www.suzukacircuit.jp/en/).

Access Map

From Kuala Lumpur, I can either fly to Nagoya’s Chubu Centrair International Airport or Osaka’s Kansai International Airport. Nagoya is only about 80km away from Suzuka circuit compared to Osaka which is about 180km away.

THE FLIGHT

I checked for both flights options at http://www.cheapflights.com.my and the result shows that if I fly to Nagoya, it will take a longer time as there is no direct flight and it cost $500. On the other hand, there’s direct flight to Osaka with AirAsiaX and it cost only $190.(Exchange rate:0.245700 as of 20th June 2016.)

Since this is my first time visiting Japan, I might just spend another day at Osaka. After all, Osaka is the second largest metropolitan city in Japan. I decided to get an early flight on 28th July 2016, put up a night at Osaka before I spend rest of my trip in Suzuka and return to Kuala Lumpur in the afternoon of 1st August 2016.

THE ACCOMODATION

Next, I have to figure out my accommodation. Staying in Osaka on the first night is not an issue. I’ve managed to get myself a room via booking.com is just minutes. I shall reveal what hotel it is later on.

However, it is very challenging for me to hunt for the right accommodation in Suzuka. My first option would be Suzuka Circuit Hotel which is located just 6 minutes away on foot. The booking system is available from the official Suzuka Circuit website but as expected, I was a little too late because it’s full.

I tried hunting for accommodation around Suzuka but only one hotel has a vacant room but I don’t quite like the hotel since it is an adult hotel. I am definitely not in the right mood for that since I am in Suzuka.

That leaves me with only one option; www.airbnb.com. I found myself a nice room located in Tsu-city. The unit is only a stone’s throw away from Suzuka Circuit. It is 15 minutes away on foot from Ise-Ueno Station. From this station, it’s only 3 stops away from Suzuka Circuit Ino Station, roughly about 7 minutes.

Now that I have sorted out my flights and accommodations, all which is left is to wait for the day to come.
