Le Mans Suzuka Positive Award

At the "Suzuka 8 Hours," we aim to build a sustainable society that preserves "history and tradition" for future generations, and as part of this effort, we have established the "Le Mans Suzuka Positive Award."

On February 23, 2019, we signed a friendship agreement with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) in Le Mans, France, concerning Le Mans and Suzuka Circuit, and have established the Le Mans Award and Suzuka Award in the World Endurance Championship. The "Le Mans Suzuka Positive Award" is a new accolade jointly undertaken by "Le Mans" and "Suzuka Circuit," which have both been hosting endurance races since 1978. This award aims to expand the circle of sustainability with participating teams, fostering a positive cycle for the environment and society, and enhancing the sustainability of the event.

About the Le Mans Suzuka Positive Award

The sustainability efforts of all teams participating in the Suzuka 8 Hours are quantified, and the team that has made the most positive impact is recognized.
We broadly invite activities in four categories, including the use of renewable energy and low-carbon mobility to reduce environmental impact, efforts to reduce disposable plastics and promote recycling in team operations during the event, educational activities for children, and contributions to the local community.

We take pride in fostering a new culture together."

Comment from Takeshi Saito, President and CEO of Honda Mobilityland Corporation
"We are very pleased to be able to expand our collaboration with our friendly partner Le Mans into a new form aimed at the future of motorsports.
By both circuits taking the initiative and expanding the circle of sustainability, we aim to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society and the preservation and development of motorsports culture.

About the Award Trophy

The trophy for the Le Mans Suzuka Positive Award was designed by Jin Kuramoto, made using cypress wood from Owase, Mie Prefecture, and crafted by Karimoku Furniture Inc. Through the selection of locally rooted materials and high-quality craftsmanship that embodies the essence of Japanese manufacturing, the trophy symbolizes the philosophy of this award.

In addition to Honda Mobilityland Corporation's sustainability activities in hosting motorsports events, the efforts of the "Le Mans Suzuka Positive Award" have been recognized, and this "Le Mans Suzuka Positive Award" has also been certified as part of the "FIM KiSS Program," a program promoted by the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) that implements initiatives based on the three pillars of "social, environmental, and economic." The "KiSS" stands for "Keep it Shiny and Sustainable," aiming to connect sustainable motorcycle sports to the future.
