The provisional entry list for this event features domestic and international teams representing nine manufacturers. The driver lineups and class divisions will be announced again after the official entry deadline on August 4 (Mon).
The majority of entrants are teams based in the Asian region. This aligns with the core philosophy valued by the IGTC and has been made possible by the remarkable growth of the GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS (external site) since 2019. In fact, more than half of the provisional entry list consists of teams competing in the GT World Challenge Asia.
The majority of these teams are able to earn Intercontinental points representing their respective manufacturers. The current champion, Origine Motorsport, and former champion Absolute Racing represent Porsche. Meanwhile, Mercedes-AMG is represented by Craft-Bamboo, Ferrari by Harmony Racing and LM Corsa, and BMW by Team KRC, each carrying their manufacturer’s name into battle.
One of Asia's leading teams, JMR, will enter two Chevrolet Corvettes. Additionally, with 5ZIGEN competing with a Nissan GT-R, an even more diverse lineup of machines will gather.
Several teams from the Japan Cup, a domestic GT series organized by SRO, have also announced their participation. BINGO RACING will make a double entry in both the series and the 1000km race, competing with a Callaway Corvette that also participated in 2018 and 2019.
In addition, expectations are rising for the performance of Goodsmile Racing and PONOS Racing, both regular teams in SUPER GT, in their home race. Furthermore, the entry of MAEZAWA RACING, with Yusaku Maezawa himself behind the wheel, has been confirmed, undoubtedly drawing even more attention from within the country.
Furthermore, the participation of international teams is also a highlight you can't take your eyes off. In addition to Heart of Racing by SPS, Herberth, and GetSpeed, longtime IGTC regular teams GMR and 75 Express will be battling against the domestic competitors, making it one of the key points to watch.
Lamborghini and Audi are also listed on the provisional entry list of participating manufacturers.
This event, held as part of the IGTC in 2018 and 2019, was conducted as a 10-hour endurance race. However, most of the previous 48 editions of the event were run over a distance of 1000km. Completing this distance within a limited time is considered difficult due to various factors such as weather, the deployment of safety cars, and track conditions. Therefore, the race duration has been set to 6 and a half hours to enable the 1000km distance to be achieved as much as possible.
Regulations regarding maximum drive time and stint length will be announced at a later date.
