The race of Super Formula final round to be held on Sunday, October 22nd at Suzuka Circuit as its stage was announced to be canceled on Saturday the 21st as bad weather was expected due to the nearing typhoon Lan, and accumulated points up to the official qualifying session conducted on the day decided the series champion. Hiroaki Ishiura won the driver’s championship for the second time since 2015 and P.MU/CERUMO•INGING where Ishiura belong won the team championship for the second time from last year.
The F1 Japanese Grand Prix race was held at Suzuka Circuit on Sunday, October 8th, and 68,000 fans visited the venue. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) who started from the pole position kept his lead throughout the race and marked his third win at Suzuka.
Scheduled on August 26th (Sat.) and 27th (Sun.) at Suzuka Circuit as its stage, 2017 AUTOBACS SUPER GT Round 6 The 46th International SUZUKA 1000km "SUZUKA 1000km THE FINAL" was held. The race started at 12:30 on 27th. Epson Modulo NSX-GT (Bertrand Baguette / Kosuke Matsuura) won the race for the top category GT500 class, and LEON CVSTOS AMG (Haruki Kurosawa / Naoya Gamou) for the GT300 class.

This event was the final round of 2016 – 2017 FIM EWC and also the championship-decider with only 1 point difference between SERT and GMT94-YAMAHA. Also, there was still a slight chance for YART YAMAHA to become a champion coming from behind.
For the race, YART YAMAHA took the checkered flag in the 5th position even though they had some machine troubles. However, GMT94-YAMAHA finished the race in the 11th position and SERT in the 18th position, which turned it around and GMT94-YAMAHA became a champion.
“SUZUKA “S-Tai” Survival”, Round 3 of the 2017 Series of “Super Taikyu” where various machines based on the productions cars are participating, was held at Suzuka Circuit. 54 cars were entered whereas the number of cars permitted to participate in the race was 50, the Official Qualifying session and the consolation race “Second Chance 100 (100-min. race)” was held on Saturday, June 10th, and 50 cars that were qualified to compete in the race were selected. The race held on Sunday the 11th was the 4-hour endurance race. Intense battles were unfolded in each of the classes divided into 7 classes.

Race 2 of SS600 was competed for 13 laps. Going into the final stage of the race, #13 West, #76 Itoh, #23 Hada, and #71 Kagayama were fighting for the lead, but #13 West who became the leader in the final stage of the race received the checkered flag as the race leader by pulling apart from #76 Itoh and achieved the double-win following Race 1.
On April 22nd (Sat.) and 23rd (Sun.), at Suzuka Circuit as their stage, “NGK Spark Plug SUZUKA 2 & 4 RACE” having both All-Japan Road Racing JSB1000 class, the pinnacle of motorcycle racing in Japan, and Super Formula, the pinnacle of formula racing in Japan, held on the same weekend. On the 23rd (Sun.), 35-lap races (about 200km) were held for both series, and Takumi Takahashi (MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO. Honda) won the JSB1000 race and Kazuki Nakajima (VANTELIN TEAM TOM'S) won the Super Formula race.

The Spring event of Suzuka Circuit, the "2017 Thanks Motorsports Fans' Day" was held on March 4th (Sat.) and 5th (Sun.), and the 2-day total of 58,500 fans with 26,500 people on the 4th (Sat.) and 32,000 people on the 5th (Sun.) visited there and enjoyed the various attractions such as the demo run at the international racing track, talk shows in front of grandstand, machine exhibition and boarding experience at the event plaza "GP Square" and autograph sessions and talk shows at the hospitality lounge on the second floor of the pit building.
